Commission Chief Orders Officials to Protect SC/ST Welfare Rights
Bakki Venkataiah met officials in Jayashankar Bhupalpally to check how SC/ST welfare work is being carried out.
He said money meant for these communities must not be diverted or wasted.
Officials were told to follow reservation rules when giving promotions.
They must also make sure eligible people receive their legal rights and government benefits.
Cases involving violence against SC/ST people should be investigated quickly.
Victims should receive compensation and rehabilitation on time.
Villages should hold Civil Rights Day programmes to explain legal protections and government schemes.
CCTV cameras were also suggested for places where crimes or land disputes may happen.
SC/ST Commission Chairman Bakki Venkataiah warned officials against diverting or misusing welfare and development funds.
He reviewed land issues, RORs, employee promotions, welfare schemes and atrocity cases with district officials.
Officials were directed to implement roster reservations in promotions and ensure eligible beneficiaries receive constitutional rights and benefits.
Venkataiah called for speedy investigations, timely compensation and rehabilitation in SC/ST atrocity cases.
He urged regular Civil Rights Day programmes and CCTV installation at sensitive locations to improve awareness and prevent crimes and land disputes.
