Bhubaneswar Begins Stray Dog Census to Manage Population
Imagine the city of Bhubaneswar is trying to keep track of all the stray dogs.
The city is conducting a census to count them all!
Teams of people will go around the city very early in the morning to count the dogs.
This will help the city know how many dogs there are and where they are.
Knowing this information will help the city to help the dogs by giving them health care, preventing the spread of diseases like rabies, reducing dog bites, and making the city a safer place.
The city hopes to make a plan to take care of the dogs after the census is complete.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) began a stray dog census.
The census aims to count dogs across all 67 wards of the city.
Counting takes place daily from 5 am to 7 am.
