Bombay HC Orders SIT to Probe Parbhani Custodial Death
A court in India wants to find out what happened to a man named Somnath Surwayanshi who died while he was in police custody.
Because the court wasn't happy with how the police were investigating, they ordered the police to create a special team to look into it.
This team will take over the investigation.
The man was taken into custody by the police in December 2024, after protests.
The Supreme Court previously agreed with an earlier decision by the High Court.
The court wants to make sure everything is investigated fairly and properly.

The SIT will probe the custodial death of Somnath Surwayanshi.
Surwayanshi, a labourer, was picked up by police in December 2024.
