Andhra Butcher Arrested After Woman’s Body Found In Canal
Police in Andhra Pradesh arrested a man accused of killing a woman named Kalyani.
They say the woman was killed on September 17 after an argument about money and a child.
Police allege that the accused attacked her with a knife.
They also say he cut up her body and put the pieces in a cooling canal.
A torso was found near the canal on September 18.
Search teams later found the head, legs and other pieces, but one hand was still missing.
Investigators used CCTV and other evidence to identify the accused.
Police are also looking for a man they say helped him, while officials decide where the child should live.
Vijayawada Police arrested 35-year-old mutton shop operator Mohd Shafi over Kalyani’s alleged murder.
Police said Kalyani was killed on September 17 at Shafi’s house in Bhavanipuram after a dispute over money and a child.
Her headless torso was found near the VTPS cooling canal on September 18.
Search teams recovered her head, legs and other body parts, but one hand remained missing.
Police said Shafi’s alleged associate Abdullah Durga Rao was absconding, while the child remains with Shafi’s wife pending custody decisions.
