Pune to Remove Speed Bumps for Olympic Cycling Qualifier
Pune is getting ready for a big bike race!
To make the roads safe and fast for the cyclists, the city will remove 200 speed bumps and fix 400 road covers.
The race is part of the Pune Grand Challenge Tour, a professional cycling event that could qualify riders for the 2028 Olympics.
The city is spending a lot of money to make the roads just right, ensuring they are smooth and safe for speeds up to 80 km/h.
This event is a big deal because it's the first of its kind in India, inspired by famous races like the Tour de France.
Pune is preparing for the Pune Grand Challenge Tour, a cycling event in January 2026.
The PMC will remove 200 speed breakers and repair 400 chamber covers.
The project aims to create a rider-friendly 75 km route.
The event is a qualifier for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The road development will cost Rs 145.75 crore.
