Aeos Games Co-Founder Explains Why Young Indians Feel Frustrated
Rohan Mayya says many young people in India are worried about their future.
He says millions of students graduate each year, but finding a good job is not guaranteed.
He thinks AI may automate some digital work, while many people already struggle to find meaningful jobs.
He also says it can be hard to start businesses in manufacturing or do research in India.
Rising prices and expensive homes make it harder for people to save money.
Mayya worries that AI could bring most of the money to a small group of people.
Some people who responded to his post added concerns about things like medical costs and housing.
His hope is that technology will eventually make many things less expensive.
Rohan Mayya says India graduates about 1.5 million engineers and 10 million students across all degree courses each year.
He argues that weaker hiring, AI automation and a lack of meaningful work are making it harder for young people to find jobs.
Mayya points to limited manufacturing and research opportunities, saying India’s R&D spending is about 0.7% of GDP.
He says inflation and rising housing costs are making it harder to build wealth, and cites an average apartment price of about $300,000.
Mayya warns that AI could concentrate economic value among a small group, but hopes technology will eventually reduce costs.
