MLA Appeals to Maintain Rapthadu's Revenue Divisions
An elected official, MLA Paritala Sunitha, is asking the government to keep things the way they are for her area called Rapthadu.
Right now, her constituency is split into two different administrative areas, or 'revenue divisions'.
Some parts of her area are in one district and some in another.
The MLA says this current setup works well for people because it's not too far to get to government offices.
She is worried that if the government combines everything into just one area, people from certain villages will have to travel a very long way, about 80 kilometers, to get services.
She has written letters to important government leaders asking them to consider these travel problems before making any changes.
Rapthadu MLA Paritala Sunitha has requested the government to maintain the existing two revenue divisions for her constituency.
The constituency is currently divided between Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts.
Three mandals are under the Anantapur Revenue Division, and three are under the Dharmavaram Revenue Division.
Sunitha argues the current arrangement is convenient for residents regarding travel and access to services.
She warns that consolidating into a single division could force some villages to travel up to 85 km to reach RDO offices.
