Heavy Snowfall Disrupts Kashmir, BRO Rescues 60
Heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir caused big problems.
Many roads and flights were cancelled, and people got stuck.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) helped rescue 60 people, including soldiers and civilians, who were trapped in deep snow at Chatergala Pass.
They worked hard for 40 hours to clear the snow and make the roads safe again.
The snow also made it hard for trains and other vehicles to move, but people worked together to help each other.
Some tourists enjoyed the extra time in the snow, while others had to wait to go home.
The weather is still causing problems, but everyone is working to keep people safe.
Heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir disrupted transportation, including the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and flights at Srinagar airport.
The BRO rescued 60 people, including 40 soldiers and 20 civilians, stranded at Chatergala Pass due to heavy snowfall.
The rescue operation involved clearing 38 km of road covered in 5-6 feet of snow and took 40 hours to complete.
District administrations and police set up control rooms and helpline numbers to assist the public, and medical personnel braved the snow to reach patients.
The JKUTDMA issued avalanche warnings for 11 districts, and the weather forecast predicts continued light to moderate rain or snow.
