Indian Markets Face Mixed Global Cues as Oil Surges

Indian Markets Face Mixed Global Cues as Oil Surges

Indian stock markets may begin quietly because signals from other countries are mixed.

GIFT Nifty was only slightly higher in early trading.

Asian markets were mostly lower after US markets fell.

Investors were concerned that higher US government bond yields could make borrowing more expensive.

Oil prices stayed high, with Brent crude above $93 a barrel.

The rise followed comments about tougher US sanctions against Iran.

Gold was slightly lower on international markets but its Indian price increased from the previous day.

Silver prices in India also rose.

Foreign investors sold Indian shares, while domestic institutions bought much more.

The Nifty 50 and Sensex had both gained during the previous session.
