UP Launches ₹1,600-Cr Irrigation Overhaul for Farm Efficiency
Uttar Pradesh is starting a big project to make farming better and save water.
They're spending a lot of money to replace old water systems with new pipes that will deliver water directly to farms, like a special underground network.
This helps save a lot of water and uses less energy.
They will also use new technologies to keep track of everything.
Local groups will help manage the water, and farmers will learn new skills.
It's expected to save lots of water and create jobs, too.
Uttar Pradesh is launching a ₹1,600 crore irrigation modernization program.
The program aims to replace outdated canal systems with efficient pipe irrigation.
The initiative is backed by central funding and launched under PMKSY.
It will use technology like IoT and GIS for real-time monitoring.
The scheme targets up to 90% water-use efficiency and aims to save 150 million cubic meters of water in the first phase.
