Kerala's New Dairy Lab Aims to Boost Quality
A new laboratory in Kerala, called the NDDB CALF Food Testing Laboratory, was opened to help dairy farmers.
The lab will test milk and other food to make sure they are safe and of good quality.
The government wants to start a second White Revolution, which means making the dairy industry better and more competitive.
The lab will also train people to work in the food industry.
In the future, it will test other foods like fruits, vegetables, and fish.
The goal is to make Kerala a leader in dairy and food safety.
Union Minister George Kurian inaugurated the NDDB CALF Food Testing Laboratory in Kerala, a joint initiative of NDDB and Milma.
The lab aims to prepare Kerala's dairy farmers for the second White Revolution and enhance food quality and safety.
Services include testing for milk and milk products, microbiology, wet chemistry, and analysis of residues and contaminants.
The lab will initially serve Kerala's dairy sector but will expand to other food entrepreneurs and neighboring states.
The facility will also offer specialized training programs for cooperative institutions, industry professionals, and students.
