Smart Industrial City Infrastructure Projects to Commence
The Indian government is building 12 new 'smart' industrial cities to boost the economy.
These cities, spread across ten states, will begin construction by the end of 2025.
The projects aim to bring in a lot of money and create many jobs.
Land for these cities has already been secured.
Some areas will focus on specific industries, including zones for foreign investors.
These new cities will add to the existing and under-construction smart industrial areas, creating a network of 20 such cities.
Infrastructure development in 11 of 12 smart industrial cities is set to start by the end of 2025.
Contracts have been awarded for four parks, with more soon to follow.
The projects are projected to attract Rs 1.5 lakh crore in investment.
These cities are expected to create 10 lakh direct and 30 lakh indirect jobs.
Each park will have a sector-specific focus.
