Social Welfare Officer Suspended Over Hostel Repair Fraud
Imagine a government hostel for kids needed repairs, and the government gave money for it.
But when the boss checked, the repairs weren't really done, even though the bills said they were.
Someone took money without doing the work!
The person in charge got in trouble.
The government is now trying to get the money back and will take legal action.
They also promised more money for the hostel but said they must spend it honestly.
This is similar to what happened in another place where people were accused of being corrupt on video.
A social welfare officer in Barabanki was suspended following an inspection of a government-run hostel.
The inspection revealed financial irregularities in the repair and maintenance of the hostel.
₹5 lakh was allocated for repairs, but discrepancies were found between bills and actual work.
The minister ordered the recovery of embezzled money and legal action.
An additional ₹10 lakh was announced for hostel upgrades with a warning of integrity in spending.
