Natco Pharma Q1 Profit Plunges 57%; Shares Fall 6%
Natco Pharma is a company that makes medicines.
It just told everyone how much money it made in the first three months of the year.
The company made a lot less money than it did at the same time last year.
Its profit dropped by more than half, from about Rs 480 crore to Rs 206.5 crore.
The money it earned from selling medicines also went down by almost half.
The main reason is that one of its important medicines did not sell as well.
Some of its other medicines sold better, which helped a little.
The company still wants to share some money with the people who own parts of it, called shareholders.
It will give them Rs 1.50 for each share they own.
The company also wants to raise Rs 2,000 crore, and its shares became cheaper on the stock market.
Natco Pharma's Q1 FY2027 net profit fell 57% year-on-year to Rs 206.5 crore from Rs 480 crore.
Consolidated revenue from operations dropped about 45% YoY to Rs 735.2 crore from Rs 1,328.9 crore.
The company attributed the decline largely to lower lenalidomide revenue, partially offset by growth in its base business.
An interim dividend of Rs 1.50 per share (75%) was declared, with a record date of August 20, 2026 and payment starting August 26, 2026.
Natco Pharma plans to raise Rs 2,000 crore through equity issuances, and its shares fell nearly 6% on the NSE following the results.
