Pandorum and Nucelion Partner for Ocular Disease Therapy
Pandorum Technologies and Nucelion Therapeutics, a part of Bharat Biotech, have teamed up to work together.
They want to make and sell a special treatment for eye diseases.
This treatment uses tiny particles called exosomes.
Nucelion will help make these treatments in a clean and safe way.
They plan to start with eye problems like Stevens–Johnson syndrome and Neurotrophic Keratitis.
Later, they might also help with skin and lung issues.
The Indian government supports this because it shows that India can make important medicines for the world.
Pandorum Technologies and Nucelion Therapeutics have partnered to expand manufacturing capabilities for an exosome-based therapeutic platform in the APAC region.
The collaboration aims to support regional supply and regulatory readiness for delivering programmable exosome therapies.
Nucelion Therapeutics will provide end-to-end manufacturing support, including process scale-up, GMP-compliant production, and quality control.
The initial focus is on treating ocular surface injury and inflammatory corneal diseases, with plans to expand to other organ systems affected by inflammation and fibrosis.
The partnership is seen as a significant step towards addressing unmet global clinical needs and showcasing India's capability in innovative and scalable biologic manufacturing.
