Vizag Nursery Launches New-For-Old Plant Exchange

In Visakhapatnam, a nursery has started a unique programme where people can exchange their old plants for new ones.

The owner, Mohammad Fasi Ur Rahman, and his brother began this initiative to encourage young people to enjoy gardening.

Customers bring in their old plants, and if they are in good condition, they can choose a new sapling and only pay the difference in price.

For example, if someone brings in a plant worth ₹20 and wants a rose plant worth ₹60, they only need to pay ₹40.

The nursery also revives the exchanged plants and sells them again, making the programme sustainable.

Additionally, Rahman and his brother have started an agritourism project on 10 acres of land near Lambasingi to attract tourists year-round.

The nursery currently offers 85 different types of plants.
