KEM Hospital Completes Maharashtra's First HPV Vaccination Drive
The doctors at KEM Hospital in Mumbai did something really important.
They organized a series of HPV vaccination drives, which is the first time such a thing has happened in Maharashtra by a group of resident doctors.
They started on International Women's Day in March 2025 and finished in November 2025.
They gave out special vaccines to protect people from HPV, which can cause serious health problems.
About 250 people, including doctors, nurses, and students, got all three doses of the vaccine.
The hospital is very happy with this success and wants other hospitals to do the same.
They even gave certificates to everyone who finished all the doses.
It's a big step in keeping people healthy!
KEM MARD completed Maharashtra’s first HPV vaccination drive series by a resident doctors’ body during KEM Hospital’s centenary year.
The initiative ran from March 8, 2025, to November 2025, offering Gardasil-4 and Gardasil-9 vaccines at subsidized rates.
Around 250 beneficiaries, including medical students, interns, resident doctors, faculty members, and nursing staff, completed all three doses.
The drives were conducted in collaboration with the departments of Community Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Participants who completed the full course will receive vaccination completion certificates.
