Bank Employees Protest for 5-Day Work Week
Bank employees in Vijayawada and other state capitals protested to ask for a five-day work week.
They are also upset that the government has not kept its promises to improve their working conditions.
The unions say it's unfair that other government institutions like LIC, GIC, and RBI already have a five-day week, but banks do not.
If their demands are not met, they plan to go on strike on January 27.
The protest was organized by the United Forum of Bank Unions, which includes nine different bank employee unions.
