Officials Finalize Reservations for Municipal Elections
Officials in several districts are working to finalize reservations for upcoming municipal elections.
They are deciding which wards will be reserved for different groups like Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and women.
This is done to make sure everyone has a fair chance to be represented.
In Gadwal, the Collector told officials to use the latest voter data to make these decisions.
In Nizamabad, a special draw will happen on Saturday to decide which wards will have women candidates.
Across the districts, a total of 427 wards are being reserved, with 211 of them going to women.
Some aspiring candidates are worried or excited because the reservations are changing, and they might have to contest from different wards.
District Collectors directed officials to finalize reservations for municipal elections based on population data and voter statistics.
Ward-wise women reservations will be finalized through a draw in Nizamabad on Saturday.
Across the united district, 427 wards are reserved with 124 for BCs, 216 for General, 60 for SCs, and 27 for STs.
The 50% women’s quota results in 211 wards being allotted for women candidates.
Aspirants are anxious or hopeful due to the rotation system changing ward reservations.
