India-EFTA Trade Pact: Boosts Exports, Brings Investments
India has started a new trade agreement with Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland (EFTA).
This means it should be easier for India to sell goods to these countries and for businesses in those countries to invest in India.
India hopes to get $100 billion in investments and create one million jobs.
Tariffs will be reduced, making some imported products like wine and coffee cheaper.
The agreement is expected to help Indian exporters and bring in investments for manufacturing.
India's trade pact with EFTA (Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Iceland) comes into effect.
The agreement aims to diversify India's export markets.
EFTA will facilitate $100 billion in FDI into India over 15 years.
The agreement will create 1 million direct jobs in India.
Indian exporters in sectors like machinery and textiles will benefit.
