Pune 'Reel Star' Influencer Arrested In Rs 10 Crore Fraud
Some bad people pretended to be police officers to trick an old man.
They told him he was in trouble with the law and would be arrested.
Scared, the old man gave them a huge amount of money — over 10 crore rupees.
A famous social media star named Rohan Jadhav helped handle the stolen money.
He split the money into thousands of bank accounts so it would be hard to find.
He also sent money to people in Hong Kong using digital money called cryptocurrency.
Police figured out what happened when one of the bad people used an ATM.
They froze all of Jadhav's bank accounts, so he had no choice but to give himself up in court.
Now he is arrested, and police are working on the case.
Rohan Jadhav, a social media influencer and 'reel star', was arrested in Pune for his alleged role in a digital arrest fraud that duped an elderly man of Rs 10.74 crore.
The fraud took place in January this year when fraudsters posing as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers threatened the elderly victim with digital arrest.
Jadhav surrendered in court after police froze all his bank accounts and financial sources.
He allegedly transferred the defrauded amount to 5,436 bank accounts and used cryptocurrency to conduct transactions with handlers in Hong Kong via Telegram.
Three co-accused — Harshad Subhash Dhantole, Samarth Suresh Deshmukh, and Amar Shivaji Attargi — were arrested earlier, and two cases have been filed against Jadhav in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
