Single Ticket in Georgia Wins $980 Million Mega Millions Jackpot

Someone in Georgia just won a huge $980 million prize playing Mega Millions!

This was a special drawing because the jackpot had been growing for a long time, with no one winning for 40 games.

The winning numbers were 1, 8, 11, 12, 57, and the special Mega Ball was 7.

This means the player who bought the ticket in Georgia got all those numbers right.

While this person won the biggest prize, many other players also won smaller amounts by matching some of the numbers or using special multipliers.

Now that the big prize has been won, the jackpot for the next game starts over at $50 million.

Playing Mega Millions costs $2 for a ticket, and you can buy them in many places across 47 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The next drawing is on Tuesday.
