Villagers Demand Probe Into Panchayat Irregularities in MP's Vidisha

Villagers Demand Probe Into Panchayat Irregularities in MP's Vidisha

This story is about a small village council in India called a panchayat.

Some people who live in the village say the council has not held a single meeting for more than four years.

They think the people in charge may be doing things that are not fair or honest.

The villagers wrote down all their complaints in a letter called a memorandum.

They gave the letter to a local government official named Doji Ram Ahirwar.

In the letter, they said some government help meant for villagers never reached them.

They also said the brother of the village leader was secretly running things instead of the elected leaders.

People complained that cows kept in the village shelter were not getting enough food and water.

The villagers asked for an investigation into what happened.

A senior official named Ashish Agarwal said he will look into the complaints and take action if they are true.
