Karnataka to Develop Five Aerospace and Defence Parks
Imagine Karnataka is a super popular place for making airplane and defense parts.
The state's leader, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, wants to make it even better by building five new, fancy parks just for these kinds of companies.
These parks will have ready-to-use workshops with electricity and even special testing rooms, so companies can start building their factories much faster.
Karnataka is already the biggest player in this industry in India, making almost two-thirds of the parts.
The plan is to get a lot more money invested and create lots of new jobs for skilled workers over the next five years.
This is also part of a bigger plan for India to make more things itself.
Karnataka announced plans to develop five world-class Aerospace & Defence Parks.
The initiative aims to attract Rs 45,000 crore in investments and generate 60,000 skilled jobs in the sector within five years.
The parks will be located in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Tumakuru, and Chamarajanagar, promoting balanced regional development.
Key features include 'plug-and-play' facilities and common testing centres to expedite industry setup.
Karnataka currently accounts for approximately 65% of India's aerospace and defence sector.
