Court Blocks Janhvi Kapoor Deepfakes, Declines Banning Fan Pages

An actress named Janhvi Kapoor asked a court in Delhi, India, for help because people on the internet were using her face and voice in fake videos and accounts without her permission.

Some of these fake videos were very rude and made-up, which is called a deepfake.

The judge agreed that this was not okay and ordered the bad content to be removed.

But the judge also said that fan pages, where people celebrate their favorite stars, should be allowed.

The judge said celebrities live in the digital world and cannot hide away like someone in a cave.

This means there is a line between harmful fake content and normal fandom.

Other famous actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff have also asked courts for similar protection.

The very next day, Janhvi's sister Khushi Kapoor asked the court to protect her too.

Now people are debating how stars can enjoy being famous online while staying safe from misuse of their identity.
