Pope Leo Opens Vatican Meeting on Modern Catholic Families

Pope Leo Opens Vatican Meeting on Modern Catholic Families

Pope Leo has brought bishops from many countries together at the Vatican.

They are meeting to talk about Catholic family life.

The meeting marks 10 years since Pope Francis wrote a document called Amoris Laetitia.

That document asked the Church to show more compassion to Catholics facing difficult situations.

The bishops may discuss people who are divorced and remarried, as well as LGBT Catholics.

Those topics are not officially listed on the meeting’s agenda.

About 150 bishops and 11 Catholic couples are taking part.

The meeting is planned to run through October 14.
