Mango Farmers Trained in Low-Cost Scientific Crop Management

Mango Farmers Trained in Low-Cost Scientific Crop Management

A training programme was held to help mango farmers grow better fruit while spending less.

Rashtriya Seva Samithi and its Krishi Vigyan Kendra organised it as part of the Unnathi Mango Project.

About 100 farmers from seven mandals attended.

Scientists said that doing orchard work at the right time can help produce a good harvest.

They recommended biofertilisers and micronutrient mixtures as alternatives to chemical fertilisers.

They also suggested a specific spray for pruned mango trees to help new growth and flowering.

Green manure crops and an NPK biofertiliser mix were also recommended.

The project aims to help farmers improve fruit quality and reach better markets, including export markets.
