Assam: NDA Candidates Elected Unopposed to Rajya Sabha
Two politicians, Kanad Purkayastha and Birendra Prasad Baishya, have been chosen to join the Rajya Sabha, which is like the upper house of India's Parliament.
No one else ran against them, so they won automatically.
One is starting their political career, while the other is coming back for a third time.
This election fills a gap in representation, especially for the Barak Valley region, and it gives the BJP a stronger presence.
Kanad Purkayastha (BJP) and Birendra Prasad Baishya (AGP) elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Assam.
The election was uncontested, with no opposition candidates nominated.
