India Wins First Los Angeles Quota Through Compound Archery

India Wins First Los Angeles Quota Through Compound Archery

India won a gold medal in mixed team compound archery at the Asian Games in Nagoya.

Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Rajesh Jadhav were the Indian archers.

They defeated a South Korean pair in the final.

Their win also gave India its first quota place for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics from these Asian Games.

Compound bows have sights and equipment that help reduce vibration.

India started building its compound archery programme in 2003.

The sport was not included in the Olympics programme for many years.

Indian archers now hope this success will help them qualify for the 2028 Games.
