TRSMA Seeks Teacher Protection Law After Principal’s Murder

More than 1,000 private school teachers protested in Bodhan after Principal Roopa Reddy was killed in Nalgonda.

Reports said two students allegedly committed the killing.

The teachers want the government to make schools safer.

Their association, TRSMA, is asking for a special law to protect teachers, principals and schools.

The proposed law would address threats, attacks, illegal entry and damage to school property.

TRSMA also wants the police, Education department and district officials to work together on school safety.

It asked for a quick investigation and trial in the murder case.

The association also suggested counselling and behaviour support for students.

It submitted a representation to a government officer seeking strong punishment for those responsible.
