Industry Leaders Endorse Uttar Pradesh as Textile Manufacturing Hub
Industry leaders met at the UP Textile Conclave 2026 to discuss growing textile production in Uttar Pradesh.
They said the state has many workers, a large market and a long tradition of making textiles.
They believe modern factories and better training could help the state sell more products around the world.
One leader said Uttar Pradesh could make special materials for defense equipment.
Another said better textile processing could improve quality and delivery times.
A third supported building a large park to make textile machines locally.
Making more machines and materials in India could reduce the need to buy them from other countries.
The leaders also described an international textile machinery exhibition planned for December in Greater Noida.
Industry representatives backed Uttar Pradesh’s ambition to become a major textile and technical-textile hub.
Manoj Gupta said the PM Mitra Mega Textile Park in Lucknow-Hardoi could support advanced-materials manufacturing and defense-sector textiles.
MKU Limited operates a three-hectare Kanpur Defense Corridor unit producing polyethylene-based fabric for bulletproof jackets and helmets.
Ravi Sam highlighted exports, skills, sustainability, traceability and modern processing as priorities for meeting global standards.
Ketan Sanghvi supported a proposed 1,000-acre textile machinery park near Kanpur and announced a December exhibition in Greater Noida.
