Rubrik Expands Project Hourglass With AI Code Security Tool
Rubrik has introduced a tool called Code Guardian to help companies find security problems in computer code.
It uses Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5 to look for complicated attacks that might involve several parts of a system.
The tool checks a copy of a company’s code in an isolated environment, not its live systems.
Rubrik says it checks whether the problems it finds could really be exploited and rates their importance.
The tool is available only to select partners in a private preview, not to everyone.
It is part of Rubrik’s Project Hourglass programme, which also offers tools and support for managing AI agents.
Rubrik says more than 86% of surveyed cybersecurity and IT leaders expect AI agents to move faster than their security protections within a year.
Rubrik introduced Code Guardian to scan AI-generated code for security flaws in isolated, air-gapped environments.
The tool uses Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5 to assess cloned code repositories for sophisticated, multi-step threats.
Code Guardian verifies findings for exploitability and scores them by business criticality; it is in private preview for select partners.
Rubrik added Tata Consultancy Services, Trace3, WWT, and AHEAD to Project Hourglass, alongside existing partners.
Rubrik cited a survey in which more than 86% of cybersecurity and IT leaders expect AI agents to outpace their security guardrails within a year.
