DMRC Achieves Milestone in Delhi Metro Phase 4 Tunnelling
The Delhi Metro is building new underground tunnels.
They use a giant machine called a TBM to dig.
This machine made a tunnel between two stations.
The tunnel is deep underground and has special rings to keep it strong.
The builders checked to make sure they didn't damage anything above ground while digging.
This is part of a bigger project to build more metro lines.
DMRC completed an underground tunnel between Kishangarh and Vasant Kunj Station.
A Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) was used to bore the 1550-meter-long tunnel.
The tunnel is part of the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor in Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro.
The tunnel has an inner diameter of 5.8 meters and was built using the EPBM method.
Safety precautions were taken to monitor ground movements near existing structures.
