Thane Water Crisis Worsens Amid Delayed Projects and High-Rise Approvals

Thane is facing a serious shortage of water.

Some homes receive water at very low pressure, while others depend on private tankers.

Local representatives say several water tanks are dry because their pumps do not work.

They also say important pipeline and tank projects have been delayed.

A replacement tank project in Srinagar has not started even though its tender was issued more than 18 months ago.

Representatives are worried that new tall buildings are still being approved while older neighborhoods lack enough water.

The city engineer said officials would study the problem in each ward.

Residents and representatives warned that protests could happen if the water problems are not fixed soon.
