Income Tax Payment Online: 5 Modes via e-Pay Tax
The Income Tax Department offers an online service called e-Pay Tax that lets people pay their taxes over the internet.
You can pay different types of taxes like advance tax or self-assessment tax using this service.
There are five ways to pay: net banking, debit card, paying at a bank counter, RTGS/NEFT, and through a payment gateway.
You don't even need to log in to the portal; you can verify your PAN or TAN with an OTP sent to your phone.
If you're logged in, you can see your payment history and download receipts.
The process is the same whether you're paying taxes under the Income Tax Act, 1961 or the Income Tax Act, 2025.
Each payment method has its own rules and fees, so you can choose the one that's most convenient for you.
