Former Tribal Panel Member Seeks State Festival Status for Teej

Teej is an important festival for the Banjara tribal community.

Banjara women celebrate it during the month of Shravan.

The festival was held on Sunday near the Krishna River.

Vaditya Sankar Naik attended the celebration as the chief guest.

He asked the Andhra Pradesh government to make Teej an official State Festival.

He also requested money from the government every year for the celebrations.

Naik said this could help protect Banjara culture and traditions.

He also encouraged tribal communities to stay united and support one another.
