An expert named Mr. Murthy wants the government to make new rules so elevators are safer.

He also wants special schools to teach people how to fix and look after elevators.

He says there are not enough trained workers to maintain elevators properly.

The expert thinks the government should have a special team that watches over lift, escalator, and elevator safety.

He says people who live in apartment buildings should also help take care of their elevators.
