Boeing Begins F-47 Production: New Fighter Jet Set to Fly in 2028
The U.S. Air Force is building a new, super-expensive fighter jet called the F-47, made by Boeing.
It's part of a larger project called NGAD, which includes other advanced systems like drones.
The F-47 is designed to be stealthy, fast (over twice the speed of sound), and have a long range.
The Air Force hopes it will keep the U.S. ahead in air combat for a long time.
Each jet is expected to cost over $300 million.
The Air Force plans to buy at least 185 of these jets, with the first flight expected in 2028.
They will also work with advanced systems to manage unmanned aircraft.

The F-47 is part of the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program.
First flight of the F-47 is targeted for 2028.
