Government Rolls Back e-NAM 2.0 in Rajasthan
The government has decided to go back to using the old version of the e-NAM platform in most markets in Rajasthan.
They will only use the new version in 10 markets for now.
This is because the new version had some problems that made it hard for farmers to sell their crops.
The old version will keep running in these 10 markets too, so farmers can get used to the new one without any issues.
The government wants to make sure everything works smoothly before using the new version in all markets.
They also want to make sure farmers get fair prices for their crops.
The Union government has rolled back the use of e-NAM 2.0 in 163 of Rajasthan's 173 mandis due to operational and technical glitches.
e-NAM 1.0 will continue to operate in all 173 mandis, with e-NAM 2.0 being piloted in 10 selected mandis.
The initial switch-off of e-NAM 1.0 led to farmers losing access to competitive bidding from multiple mandis, potentially resulting in lower prices.
Specific technical failures included incorrect user mapping, non-visible user profiles, and mixing of lots from different mandis in the bidding process.
The government aims to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations before rolling out e-NAM 2.0 across all mandis in Rajasthan.
