Hyderabad Degree Student Dies After Speeding Motorcycle Hits Pole
A sad accident happened in a city called Hyderabad, in India.
A 19-year-old college student was riding on the back of a motorcycle driven by his 18-year-old friend.
The motorcycle was going very fast on Thursday morning.
A small scooter with a husband and wife on it was trying to turn right.
The motorcycle rider tried to zip past the scooter but bumped into it.
The motorcycle then went off the road and hit an electric pole.
The student on the back hit the pole very hard and sadly died right away.
His friend broke his hand and was taken to a hospital.
The husband and wife on the scooter got some bruises and were also taken to a hospital.
Neither young man was wearing a helmet, and police are now investigating what happened.
K. Tejas, a 19-year-old first-year degree student at Government Degree College, Bolaram, died after the speeding motorcycle he was riding pillion on crashed into an electric pole in Trimulgherry.
The crash occurred around 8.25 am on Thursday morning near the toddy compound on Dairy Farm Road at Chinna Kamela turning.
Police said rider Kannaiah Kumar, 18, was allegedly speeding and brushed against a scooty carrying a husband and wife that was turning towards Chinna Kamela, causing the motorcycle to veer off the road.
Tejas was thrown into the pole and died on the spot; Kannaiah suffered hand fractures and was admitted to a private hospital, and neither of them was wearing a helmet.
The couple on the scooter sustained bruises and were shifted to Gandhi Hospital; Trimulgherry police registered a case under BNS section 106(1) and are investigating.
