IAF Wing Commander honey-trapped by Pakistani spy, chargesheet reveals

A Wing Commander is a senior officer in the Indian Air Force.

This officer was posted in a secret, classified unit.

The police say a spy from Pakistan tricked him on social media.

This kind of tricking is called 'honey-trapping.'

The spy pretended to be a friend and later used that connection to get military secrets from him.

The officer is accused of sharing secret documents and information about his unit.

He is also accused of putting harmful apps, called malware, on the phones and laptops of other air force members.

Those apps can steal messages, spy on devices, and let someone else control them.

The officer says the spy blackmailed him after they became close, so he felt forced to help.

He was arrested on May 30 and now faces charges under the Official Secrets Act.
