Konaseema District Plans Industrial Growth
The collector of Konaseema district, R. Mahesh, is working on a plan to help the district grow by using its natural resources like coconut and banana.
He wants to set up two special places where people can start businesses to make different products from these crops.
One place will be for coconut products and the other for banana products.
The government has already given money to start a coconut park.
Officials are also visiting other states to learn how to make these products.
This plan will create jobs for people in the area and help the district develop more.
Collector R. Mahesh plans to establish industrial units based on coconut and banana in Konaseema district.
Two incubation centres are proposed: one for coconut in Uppalaguptam and one for banana in Devarapalli.
₹10 crore has been sanctioned for a Coconut Park at Mamidikuduru.
292 value-added products from coconut and 60 from bananas have been identified for MSME units.
