15,000 Hindi-Speaking Autorickshaw Drivers Receive Marathi Training Certificates

About 15,000 autorickshaw drivers who speak Hindi completed a basic Marathi course.

They received certificates showing that they finished the training.

The drivers often speak with passengers from many language backgrounds.

The lessons taught Marathi words and phrases used in everyday conversations.

The training may help drivers communicate more easily with passengers.

It may also help them during routine interactions with transport authorities.

Local MLA Prakash Surve organized the initiative.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde handed out the certificates in Borivali.

This was the first batch of drivers to complete the programme.
