Uttar Pradesh Transfers Aid to Parents of 7.83 Lakh Students

The Uttar Pradesh government is giving money to parents of schoolchildren.

The money is sent directly to their bank accounts using a system called Direct Benefit Transfer, or DBT.

It can be used to buy uniforms, shoes, sweaters, school bags, and stationery.

The help is for children in Classes 1 to 8 in government-run Basic Education Department schools.

In the second phase, parents of 7.83 lakh students received the transfer.

The programme began in Varanasi on July 8, 2026, when nearly 1.10 crore students were covered.

The government says these items can help children feel confident and attend school regularly.

Officials are monitoring the transfers to make sure eligible families receive the money on time.
