SPPU Plans Multidisciplinary Undergraduate School for Next Academic Year
Savitribai Phule Pune University wants to create a new school for undergraduate students.
It could start from the next academic year if the plans are approved.
The school would offer courses that combine several subjects.
For example, students might study different science subjects together.
Similar combined courses may be created in humanities and social sciences.
Students might apply through one admission system.
The university says its existing blended BSc programme has received a positive response.
The plan is still being discussed and has not been finalised.
Savitribai Phule Pune University plans to establish a separate School of Undergraduate Studies.
The proposed school would offer courses combining subjects from multiple academic departments.
Integrated science programmes could combine Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Statistics and Biotechnology.
Students may use a single admission system instead of applying to individual departments.
The plan builds on SPPU’s blended BSc programme and aligns with National Education Policy 2020.
