Delhi Master Plan 2047 Targets 40 Lakh New Homes

Delhi Master Plan 2047 Targets 40 Lakh New Homes

Delhi has made a new plan for how the city should grow by 2047.

The government says about 40 lakh new homes will be built.

Many of these homes are expected to be affordable.

The plan also calls for more metro lines, buses and six new rapid-transit corridors.

Delhi’s population is expected to reach about 3.2 crore, increasing the need for homes and transport.

The plan will allow more development while protecting parts of the Yamuna floodplains and the Ridge.

Some building-height limits will be removed, except in certain areas.

Officials say the plan is intended to make Delhi more inclusive, economically active and easier to live in.
