Psychiatrist Warns Against Glorifying Suicides in NEET Protests
A famous psychiatrist from Bhopal has written a letter to political leaders and the public.
He is asking them not to use words that might make suicide seem like a good idea.
He says that when people talk about suicides in a certain way, it might make others who are sad or struggling think that ending their life is a solution.
He wants people to ask for justice and help for students, but also to make sure that no one thinks suicide is the answer.
He says that suicide is never the solution and that we should all work together to prevent it.
Dr. Satyakant Trivedi, a senior psychiatrist from Bhopal, wrote an open letter to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and the public.
He advised against using language that could unintentionally glorify suicide, as it may encourage copycat incidents.
Dr. Trivedi acknowledged the heartbreak of recent suicides by NEET aspirants and the need for accountability.
He urged leaders to communicate that suicide is never a solution and to provide accessible mental health support for students.
Dr. Trivedi warned that attributing suicides solely to exam issues oversimplifies a complex problem involving underlying mental health struggles.
