Kerala Ensures No Power Cuts During FIFA World Cup Final
The Kerala Electricity Minister, Sunny Joseph, promised that there will be no power cuts during the FIFA World Cup final between Argentina and Spain.
The match will be broadcast at 12:30 AM IST.
The minister said special arrangements have been made to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
However, Kerala is facing a power crisis due to less rainfall and higher temperatures.
This has reduced water in hydroelectric dams and increased electricity demand.
The previous government had canceled a long-term power purchase agreement, which is now causing a shortage.
The state is buying expensive electricity to meet the demand.
The minister also addressed criticisms and said the issues can be resolved through discussions.
