Cricket Australia Clears Anaya Bangar’s Women’s Cricket Pathway

Cricket Australia Clears Anaya Bangar’s Women’s Cricket Pathway

Anaya Bangar is a transgender cricketer who wants to return to competitive cricket.

Cricket Australia has said she can play women’s community cricket in Australia now.

This includes Premier Cricket, which is treated as community cricket.

She may be able to play elite women’s cricket from March 2027.

To qualify, she must meet Cricket Australia’s rules, including a testosterone requirement.

An expert panel reviewed her medical history, surgery, hormone levels and cricket background.

Bangar said this gives her a chance but does not guarantee a place on a team.

Marizanne Kapp disagreed with the decision and said it was “absolutely ridiculous.”
