Study: HIV Antibody Treatments Vary by Geographic Origin

Study: HIV Antibody Treatments Vary by Geographic Origin

Imagine HIV is like a very tricky virus that keeps changing its disguise.

Scientists have found some special 'super antibodies' that can fight many of these disguises.

But, a new study from India discovered that these super antibodies don't work as well on HIV that comes from different parts of the world.

This means that if we want to create a vaccine or medicine that really helps everyone, we might need to make ones that are made specifically for the types of HIV found in certain areas.

The study also found that some people already had resistance to common HIV medicines before they even started treatment.

This shows we need new ways to fight HIV, possibly using these special antibodies alongside existing medicines.
